October 2026 Major Update: Season 4 Mountain Vote, Engine Optimization & AI Integration

We are thrilled to roll out our biggest update of the season! This release brings the official Season 4 Mountain Selection Vote, major database speed and storage optimizations, security hardening, and cutting-edge AI Agent Content Negotiation.

🏔️ Season 4 Mountain Selection & Telemetry

The community vote to select our official mountain map for Season 4 is now officially live!

  • 6 Authentic Contenders: Vote between Deer Valley, Aspen Snowmass, Big Sky, Vail, Palisades Tahoe, and Killington.
  • Live Mountain Telemetry: Compare authentic vertical drops, skiable acreage, summit elevations, annual snowfall, and terrain difficulty splits (Green, Blue, Black, Double Black).
  • Thematic Season 4 Perks: Each mountain introduces custom gameplay perks, from snowmaking efficiency bonuses to luxury hotel revenue multipliers.
  • Vote Flexibility: Seamlessly change or retract your vote at any time during the voting window.

⚡ Speed, Stability & Storage Overhaul

  • 98% Query Reduction: Eliminated N+1 query loops in the admin dashboard through batch data resolution.
  • Preloaded Dashboard Telemetry: Removed redundant widget queries and batched new manager widget provisioning.
  • High-Performance Composite Indexes: Added database indexes across player items, equipment, staff, financial transactions, and activity logs.
  • Automated Storage Pruning: Background automated pruning for historical activity logs (>90 days) and financial transaction logs (>180 days) keeps databases lean and snappy.
  • Atomic Financial Transactions: Hardened building construction, upgrades, night skiing investments, and loan facilities with atomic database transactions.

🛡️ Security Hardening

  • Global CSRF Protection: CSRF token validation active across all forms and API endpoints.
  • Defensive Headers: Deployed X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, strict referrer policies, and invalid character filtering.
  • Role-Based Access Enforcement: Framework-level administration filters protect all administrative controls.

🤖 Markdown for AI Agents & Bot Access Control

  • Content Negotiation (Accept: text/markdown): AI systems and search agents can now request clean, high-density Markdown formatted representations of Ski Manager pages.
  • RFC 9309 AI Crawler Directives: Explicit crawl rules for AI search engines (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot), user assistants, and model training crawlers.
  • Content Signals: Embedded Content-Signal: ai-train=yes, search=yes, ai-input=yes policies.
